Port of Spain Hospital Central Block

A team is working on the operationalization of the Central Block at the Port of Spain General Hospital.

At this time however, there is no timeline on when the facility will be open to treat the public.

Yesterday, keys for the new block were officially handed over by the Works Minister to the Health Minister, along with Operations and Maintenance Manuals.

Health Minister Dr Lackram Bodoe told 103.1FM News today that the team consists of officials from his Ministry, the NWRHA and UDECOTT.

He adds that an opening date will be determined when the team submits its final report confirming that the facility is ready to receive patients.

Regarding other key facilities, Dr Bodoe said infrastructure upgrades and maintenance works were continuing at the San Fernando General Hospital and Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, under the supervision of their respective RHA boards.
