Three people have been arrested after police recovered firearms during an anti-crime exercise on Wednesday.
Police say two of the suspects were security guards at supermarkets in La Brea and Fyzabad, where officers allegedly found firearms during searches.
A third man was arrested later that evening, along the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway, where police say another firearm with ammunition was recovered.
Meanwhile, operations led by the Rio Claro CID have resulted in the arrest of three people and the seizure of firearms, ammunition and cannabis.
Police say the intelligence-led exercise involved searches, under the Emergency Powers Regulations, at six homes in the Rio Claro area early Wednesday morning.
One man was arrested after ammunition was allegedly found at his residence, while two others were detained after firearms, ammunition and cannabis were found.
