San Fernando Mayor Robert Parris has received an apology from Guardian Media following an inaccurate report alleging that firearms went missing from the Mayor’s Office.
In a statement issued this morning, the Mayor described the report’s allegation as “categorically false and misleading,” stressing that his office has never stored or managed firearms or ammunition.
He clarified that all such matters fall under the San Fernando Municipal Police Unit, which operates independently of the Mayor’s Office.
Mr Parris warned that failure to correct the report within 24 hours could result in legal action, however the apology was issued shortly after the Mayor’s statement.
