The Rose Foundation has received a one-off grant of $10,000 to support its La Brea Vulnerable Communities Micro-Enterprise Empowerment Programme 2026.
The money was presented today by the Minister of the People, Vandana Mohit, who said it would help its mandate to reach rural and vulnerable communities.
Due to begin in September 2026, the five-week programme will target 10 vulnerable women and women-led households in La Brea and environs.
The grant is expected to support entrepreneurship training, business formalisation, financial literacy, product development, branding, packaging and labelling, as well as assistance with establishing business bank accounts.
Regarding the initiative, Minsiter Mohit said the the focus on entrepreneurship is particularly important, “because we believe that equipping persons with entrepreneurial skills can help them move out of difficult circumstances, build sustainable livelihoods and create greater opportunities for themselves and their families.”
