Opposition MP Dominic Romain has criticized the Traffic Amendment Bill as unfair and unrealistic for many citizens.

The Malabar/Mausica MP highlighted the high cost and long delays in obtaining vehicle parts as a major stumbling block in the legislation.

MP Romain warned that the increase in road fines may encourage fraud rather than compliance.

He also objected to what he called โ€œharshโ€ penalties for permit renewals and limited grace periods.

The Opposition MP said that the Bill places an excessive burden on ordinary people and breaks the governmentโ€™s promise to be people-centered.
