Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar is carded to address the United Nations General Assembly this afternoon, listed as the 13th speaker in today’s session of the General Debate.
Her address comes as world leaders gather for the 81st session of the General Assembly, under the theme, “Restoring trust, managing transformation: a United Nations that delivers for all.”
The Prime Minister is also expected to hold a series of high-level bilateral meetings on the margins of the UNGA, including talks with Venezuela’s President Delcy Rodríguez.
Her engagements are expected to focus on issues of importance to T&T including the interests of small island developing states, regional cooperation, energy, development and international relations.
