A police officer has appeared in court charged with assault.
The charge stems from an incident on April 12th 2026 in Canaan, Tobago, involving a 26-year-old woman.
The TTPS says the man allegedly went to the woman’s residence and struck her several times during an argument.
The incident was reportedly witnessed by a 12-year-old girl and captured by CCTV.
Acting Corporal Sheldon Baker, who is attached to the Shirvan Road Police Station, was arrested yesterday and granted $10,000 bail by a Justice of the Peace.
He then appeared before Magistrate Lawson today, with the matter adjourned to December 4th 2026.
