Agriculture Minister Ravi Ratiram says a new U.S.–Caribbean initiative has begun, aimed at transforming the country’s agricultural sector.
At the launch of “Partners in Prosperity” at the US Embassy in Port of Spain, he says it focuses on building a more data-driven and resilient farming system.
The programme introduces a citizen science model, allowing farmers and stakeholders to collect and share real-time data to improve decision-making.
Officials say the pilot will focus on cocoa production, soil health, and pest monitoring, with plans for future expansion.
