In Guyana, Finance Minister Ashni Singh says over 241,000 citizens have already received the government’s $100,000 cash grant.

More than 218,000 payments were made directly into bank accounts through commercial banks and the New Building Society, while others—especially in hinterland communities—received cheques.

To qualify, applicants must be Guyanese citizens aged 18 and over, with valid identification and a local bank account.

A national help desk is now active, with plans to expand support centres to assist more people in registering for the grant.
