Home Invasion Ben Lomond

One man was shot dead by police following a violent home invasion in Ben Lomond Village.

Around 10:08am on Wednesday, four masked men went to the home of 67 year old pensioner, assaulting the victim and robbing her before escaping in a grey Toyota Aqua.

The TTPS says officers of the Southern Division responded immediately, processed the scene, and initiated intelligence driven follow up enquiries.

Later that night, around 9:25pm, officers acted on credible intelligence that a group of armed men was preparing for another home invasion at Union Park East, Marabella.

Upon arrival, officers found about eight men gathered in a yard.

The suspects attempted to flee, with two allegedly pointing firearms at officers.

One sustained fatal injuries, while two others were arrested.

A revolver loaded with six rounds of ammunition was also recovered.

Police Commissioner Allister Guevarro has since issued a warning to criminals.
