“Nobody is winning” – that is how Opposition Leader Pennelope Beckles described the tenure so far for the current Government.
During a “State of the Republic” address at City Hall in Port of Spain last night, Ms Beckles accused the administration of making promises that could not be kept.
She insisted the country is now worse off, with increased crime, higher prices, and a weak economy.
She also accused the Government of compromising diplomatic relations.
Turning to Local Government, the Opposition Leader alleged that the budgets for PNM-led corporations are being cut, while UNC-led corporations are receiving more.
She also insisted that tactics are already being rolled out for the upcoming Local Government Elections, due in 2027.
The PNM, she adds, is also preparing.
