The Trinidad and Tobago Football Association has not yet decided on a new nickname for the national menโs football team.
A Newsday report said TTFAโs first vice-president Colin Murray dismissed media reports claiming otherwise, saying the executive has not met to finalize a name.
The team, widely known as the “Soca Warriors” since 2006, is still in the midst of a legal dispute over the nameโs trademark.
Mr Murray said, with the World Cup qualifiers ongoing, the focus is on performance and any rebranding decision will come after the campaign ends.
On July 29th, the TTFA held a public fan vote on social media, to choose the new name from a shortlist of 12 selections.
