Wendy Augustus will Chair the new Board of Governors for the the Cipriani College of Labour and Cooperative Studies.
Also included on the Board are Michael Annisette, Felisha Thomas, Wendell Seepersad, Ermine De Bique Meade, June James, Natalie Willis, Lisa Madray-Valadere and Lauren Murray.
Letters of appointment were presented yesterday by Labour Minister Leroy Baptiste.
In an address, he reminded of the College’s role as a platform for socio-economic transformation by supporting trade unions, co-operative societies, the informal economy, public sector workers, aspiring entrepreneurs and the working class in general.
He added that it must continue to serve as a thought leader and training hub by ensuring that our young people are not only employed, but truly empowered.
