Defence Wayne Sturge is dismissing reports of changes to the Independence Day parade route.
It follows information being circulated online that the parade will start near Memorial Park and proceed along Charlotte Street, Chancery Lane or Keate Street.
In a social media post this morning, he provided clarification, saying the route announced by the Chief of Defence Staff remains in place.
The parade is due to begin at 6AM.
Independence Day celebrations will also include a synchroniseddrone show and a reduced noise fireworks display from 8PM at the Queen’s Park Savannah.
Music trucks will be stationed around the Savannah, and the fireworks are expected to last about 20 minutes.
