Trinidad and Tobago made the perfect start to the 2026 West Indies Championship with a 271 run victory over the Leeward Islands with a day to spare on Tuesday in Coolidge, Antigua.
The Red Force declared on 507 for 5 with Amir Jangoo not out on 203 and Terrance Hinds undefeated on 100.
The Leeward Islands, who had been bowled out for 138 in their first innings, were bundled out for 98 a second time round.
Left-arm orthodox spinner Khary Pierre took 4 for 37, while pacer Anderson Phillip and off-spinner Bryan Charles had two wickets apiece.
T&T will play the Leeward Islands begin second match of their bilateral series on Sunday at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.
