Cabinet has directed the National Insurance Board to immediately implement agreed salary adjustments and payout all outstanding arrears to affected employees.
Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar made the announcement during todayβs sitting of the Lower House.
The Prime Minister said this will benefit 600 current employees and 350 past employees for the 2014 β 2016 period.
She said the decision was intended to uphold workersβ rights, honour lawful agreements, and restore justice, which was praised by the President of the Public Services Association.
