Former National Security Minister Gary Griffith is criticizing the public disclosure of the alleged threat against certain officials.
In a Facebook post earlier today, he said while the Attorney General acted with the approval of the Police Commissioner, sensitive security threats should only be shared on a “need-to-know basis”.
Mr Griffith said that the existence of such threats could also mean authorities are successfully disrupting criminal activity.
However, Mr Griffith believes the disclosure could damage T&T’s international reputation, affect travel advisories, and possibly alert criminal elements to ongoing investigations.
