The Ministry of Finance has extended the deadline for mandatory registration under the Landlord Business Surcharge to June 30th, 2026.
It says this is to give landlords additional time to complete the registration process, organise the necessary documents and avoid penalties.
Finance Minister Davendranath Tancoo says the government listened to public concerns and decided to allow for a more efficient process.
