More than 2,000 people have died in the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
According to AP News, Government data shows more than 4,300 confirmed cases, with about 46 percent of confirmed cases resulting in death.
Health authorities are reportedly facing challenges reaching remote communities due to work stoppages by health workers, domestic and regional rebel conflicts and poor roads.
This outbreak involves the rare Bundibugyo virus, for which there are currently no approved vaccines or treatments.
It is the second-largest Ebola outbreak in history, behind the 2014-to-2016 outbreak in West Africa, which killed more than 11,000 people.
