The Ministry of Culture is joining the global community in celebrating World Steelpan Day 2026.

Minister Michelle Benjamin says the steelpan remains a powerful symbol of Trinidad and Tobago’s creativity, culture and national identity.

Activities are being held today in Port of Spain, including performances at the Trinidad All Stars Panyard, NAPA and the Queen’s Park Savannah.

Meanwhile, Pan Trinbago has saluted pan pioneers, tuners, arrangers, pannists, bandleaders, educators, youth, Steelbands and the entire Steelpan fraternity.

It adds that the steelpan is more than an instrument, it is T&T’s heritage, identity and sound.
