The Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba is poised to become the 126th and newest venue to host Test cricket.
This Saturday, the ground will host the first of two Tests between the West Indies and Pakistan.
The 2nd match will be played at the Queen’s Park Oval, which has been the lone Test venue in Trinidad since 1930.
Over the years, BLCA has staged One-Day Internationals, as well as matches in the ICC 2024 T20 World Cup, CPL, CWI Super50, and Regional 4-Day tournaments.
The process to have the ground named a bona fide Test venue was initiated by the T&T Cricket Board and supported by Cricket West Indies.
Ultimately it was deemed up to international standard by the International Cricket Council.
