The Ministry of Public Administration and Artificial Intelligence launched the AI Academy on Tuesday.

The Academy is a six-month, capacity-building program designed to strengthen artificial intelligence skills across the public service.

โ€œThe AI Academy embodies the Ministryโ€™s mandate, founded on three core pillars: Digital Services, Smart and Efficient Government, and a Digital Nation,โ€ said Director of the Public Service Academy, Nariya Baksh.

โ€œTo achieve this mandate, our initiatives must be built on robust education and the empowerment of Trinidad and Tobagoโ€™s greatest assetโ€”our people

The Director of the Public Service Academy, Nariya Baksh, said the Academy was founded to achieve digital services, smart and efficient government, and a digital nation.

Speakers described the move as a โ€œpioneering initiativeโ€ coming at a pivotal moment for Trinidad and Tobago and the Caribbean.

Approximately 100 public sector professionals will participate in structured AI training, with 10 officers engaging directly in the hands-on development of two to three AI prototype use cases through a secure AI Sandbox environment.
