The Met Service has discontinued its Adverse Weather Alert.

The Alert was originally scheduled to continue until 5PM today, however the TTMS says following recent rains, conditions have become settled.

It adds that the chance of significant rainfall and thunderstorm activity has significantly reduced due to a stabilizing atmosphere.

Yesterday as well, the TTMS warned that the rainy conditions were a temporary break from recent hot temperatures.

It reminded that a Yellow Level Hot Spell Alert is currently in place and is active until the end of October.

It says such rainfall events like those experienced over the past couple of day are expected to occur less frequently than usual during the course of this month.
