NESC TI Students Arrive in Jamaica

Eight students from NESC Technical Institute are in Portland, Jamaica to participate in a study abroad programme at the College of Agriculture, Science and Education.

The focus is on renewable energy and sustainable agriculture, with the programme forming part of an ongoing collaboration under an agreement between the two institutions.

Over the course of the week, they will engage in practical learning at CASE’s agro-voltaic farm, where solar energy systems are integrated with agricultural production.

In a statement, NESC says the programme aligns with national priorities around workforce readiness, sustainability, and innovation within the technical and vocational education and training (TVET) sector.

Aside from their technical training, the programme includes scheduled opportunities for students to experience Jamaican culture and cuisine, fostering a broader regional perspective.

They will also host a “Trinidad Night,” during which they will prepare Trinbagonian dishes for faculty and students at CASE.
