Almost $350 million in outstanding payments has been disbursed to workers at the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission, according to Public Utilities Minister Barry Padarath.
Speaking in Laventille, he said the payments cover long-standing cost-of-living allowances owed between 2015 and 2025.
The Oilfields Workers’ Trade Union confirmed disbursements are ongoing in phases for active and retired staff.
Officials say the settlements are improving industrial relations, with further negotiations continuing as the commission works to resolve other outstanding wage matters.
