Nearly $276,000 in grants were distributed by the Ministry of the People in Mayaro/Rio Claro.
This was distributed to a total of 19 households, representing 69 beneficiaries.
13 were Disaster General Assistance Grants totalling about $124,500, while six were Home Repair Grants amounting to $151,450.
This is the Ministry’s 37th Disaster General Assistance and Home Repair Grant distribution since the Government assumed office.
Addressing recipients, was Minister of the People, Vandana Mohit, who says there has been a diligent effort to clear long standing backlogs, improve access to assistance through initiatives such as the Revised Standard Means Test and ensure that support “reaches families when they need it most”.
