$1.4 million in cannabis seized by Customs

Over $1 million in cannabis has been intercepted at a Customs Bonded Area in Port of Spain.

During routine operations, Customs Officers were examining cargo when they found 18 packages hidden in a household appliance.

These contained cannabis valued at $1,413,302.

One individual was arrested and formally charged in connection with the seizure.

The accused has since appeared before a Master of the High Court and was granted $1.5M bail.
