TTPS, Fire Service respond to “unusual risk” situations at several locations

The Police Service and Fire Service have been deployed to a number of locations to treat with “unusual risk” situations.

103.FM News spoke with a senior TTFS official who says fire officers were deployed to court buildings in Point Fortin, Princes Town, Couva, Chaguanas, Siparia, Sangre Grande, Arima, and San Fernando.

They were sent to Kent House in Maraval and the Valpark Shopping Plaza as well.

The TTPS also issued a statement relating to the incidents, which it referred to as bomb threats.

Its release however named eight locations: Arima Magistrates’ Court, Princes Town Magistrates’ Court, Chaguanas Magistrates’ Court, Kent House, Siparia Magistrates’ Court, Sangre Grande Magistrates’ Court, a location in San Fernando, and Valpark Shopping Plaza

It has since advised members of the public avoid any of the affected areas where police operations are taking place and to comply with the directions of law-enforcement personnel.

Persons were evacuated from the named locations, however up until news time, there was no official information regarding the discovery of any suspicious or explosive devices.
