Trinidad and Tobago and China are moving to strengthen diplomatic ties.
Foreign and CARICOM Affairs Minister Sean Sobers on Monday welcomed Ren Hongyan for a high-level meeting focused on deepening cooperation between the two countries.
The Chinese delegation included First Secretary You Yuanhua and Third Secretary Peng Liu, while Permanent Secretary Randall Karim also took part in the discussions.
According to the ministry, talks centred on reinforcing the long-standing partnership between Trinidad and Tobago and the People’s Republic of China.
Officials say Trinidad and Tobago remains committed to expanding international cooperation with China.
