Dr Diva Amon and her team have wrapped up a month-long deep sea expedition.
Camped on-board the Schmidt Ocean Institute’s Research Vessel Falkor (too), the team worked to map the seafloor and study fragile and never-before-seen marine ecosystems in T&T’s waters.
Among their exciting findings, is a species of octopus that may be new to science.
While some images and videos have already been posted online, the team will continue to share samples, stories and discoveries in the weeks ahead.
As Chief Scientist, Dr Amon led a team of both local and international scientists, including a number of UWI students.
