Two men have been held in a suspected turtle poaching incident in Lambeau Beach, Tobago.
During an operation, officers discovered a turtle carcass, along with a quantity of turtle meat and eggs believed to have been unlawfully taken from a nesting site.
The two suspects were taken into custody with investigations continuing into the incident.
Persons are reminded that sea turtles are protected by local law. Offences involving hunting, killing, possession or sale of sea turtles or their eggs are serious, and could result in fines pf up to $100,000 or up to two years in jail.
