Two police officers have appeared in court for Misbehaviour in Public Office after allegedly stealing from a businessman.
PC Satesh Mahase and PC Akeil Celestine appeared in court yesterday where they were granted $150,000 and $200,000 bail, respectively.
They will next appear in court on March 17th 2027.
The businessman says he hid proceeds from his business in the ceiling of his home before leaving the premises.
Later that day, a party of officers searched the home for stolen items.
The two officers in question allegedly searched the bedroom and the victim later found the cash missing.
After an investigation by the Professional Standards Bureau , the officers were charged with Misbehaviour in Public Office, to wit Larceny Dwelling House.
