The High Commission of India, in collaboration with several local organizations, will host a series of events leading up to the 12th edition of the International Day of Yoga.
Observed annually on June 21st, this year’s International Day of Yoga will be celebrated under the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” with the national observance taking place at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva from 6AM.
Speaking at today’s curtain-raiser event, India’s High Commissioner Pradeep Singh Rajpurohit outlined the activities planned in the lead-up to the national observance.
The High Commissioner also announced that India’s Ministry of Ayush has created an online yoga meditation platform as part of an effort to set a Guinness World Record for the largest number of people participating in yoga simultaneously worldwide.
All events are free and open to the public.
