BP has announced that it will acquire full ownership of the offshore Calypso gas project, in a move the company says could help unlock future natural gas production in T&T.
Calypso is an early-stage deepwater natural gas project, located 220 km off the coast of Trinidad, in a water depth of 2,100 m
According to the T&T Energy Chamber, BP will acquire Woodside Energy’s 70% stake in Block TTDAA 14.
The deal is expected to be completed by the end of 2026, subject to Government and regulatory approval.
BP is the largest supplier of gas to the domestic market and also holds a 45% stake in Atlantic LNG.
