Activist Alyssa Phillip says she holds no hatred toward the Prime Minister, following Mrs Persad-Bissessar’s comments describing recent protests as “sick and evil”.
In a social media post last night, Phillip, a leading voice behind the “19 Bullets, 19 Protests” movement, said she believes the Prime Minister may not be acting entirely on her own judgement.
She also called for better to be done for the country.
The statement comes after protests outside the Office of the DPP, where Phillip and her mother were among three people arrested and charged.
The demonstrations are linked to calls for justice in the police-involved shooting of Joshua Samaroo, which left Kaia Sealy seriously injured.
