Officers at the Port of Spain Prison have seized a number of contraband items thrown over the prison wall.
Around 11:30am on Wednesday, they received information regarding packages being tossed over the perimeter wall and conducted a targeted search of the area and surrounding vicinity.
They found three one-gallon bottles containing 1,800 cigarettes, 1,114 grams of a plant-like material resembling marijuana, four rolls of wrapping paper, a cellphone, two SIM cards, and eight AAA batteries.
The Prison Service reminds that the introduction of prohibited articles into prison facilities is unlawful, with perpetrators to face the full brunt of the law.
