The THA’s Legal Affairs Division says contrary to some public commentary and recent reporting, an emergency injunction remains in place to protect the Buccoo Reef Marine Park and Pigeon Point Heritage Park.
The injunction was initially secured following the jet-ski incident that led to the death of 7-year-old Angelica Saydee Jogie on April 8th in Pigeon Point.
It halted all jet-ski activity within both areas, while also prohibiting the offering, solicitation, launch, and operation of such watercraft until further notice.
Yesterday, the injunction was amended, with jet-ski operators now ordered to stay a specified distance from the barriers for designated bathing areas and the inflatable recreation park.
They are however prohibited from entering Nylon Pool, cannot perform stunts in the water parks, cannot offer services to minors, and cannot operate the jet-skis at high speed.
In a statement this morning, the THA accused some of erroneous reporting, and warns that such inaccurate commentary may result in some persons acting in contravention of the order.
