For a few hours next week, the Caroni Water Treatment Plant will be completely shut down, to allow for essential work by T&TEC.

As a result, parts of North, Central, and South Trinidad will see a temporary disruption to their pipe-borne water supply.

According to WASA, T&TEC will execute a critical 20/25MVA transformer installation at the Caroni Arena Substation, located at the Caroni Plant.

This will involve the 66kV bus being de-energised, which in turn requires a complete shutdown of the facility.

This shutdown will start at 10pm on Wednesday June 3rd, 2026 and is scheduled to end at 5am on Thursday June 4th, 2026.

During this time, persons in the affected areas may experience low water pressures or no supply at all.
