The POS City Corporation has collected a cheque for June 2026 salaries.
Confirmation of this comes from Mayor Chinua Alleyne, who says the City Treasurer’s Department is currently at work processing the salary payments.
He shared a photo of the cheque, for just under $2.2 million, on social media.
He claims however that there is still no allocation for salary payments for July, August and September 2026.
“We will continue to engage the Ministry to rectify this fiscal fiasco in local government. We will also continue to engage the Ministry on the wage rate increase and backpay for our daily rated workers,” said Mayor Alleyne.
