Education Minister Dr Michael Dowlath is urging greater appreciation for culture and heritage, saying education must go beyond classrooms and textbooks.
Speaking at the official launch of the Indian Arrival Day Art and Artefact Exhibition at SAPA last evening, the Minister said T&T’s strength lies in its rich and diverse cultural heritage.
Dr Dowlath added that the arts and heritage are critical to education, tourism and national development.
He commended the efforts of the SAPA board for protecting national treasures, and preserving memory through creativity.
