A special committee has been established to investigate long-standing issues at the T&T Meteorological Services.
Public Utilities Minister Barry Padarath said the team, led by Parliamentary Secretary Shivanna Sam, is already working to address what he calls βdeep systemic failuresβ left unresolved for nearly a decade.
In a media release today, Minister Padarath criticized the Opposition for what he described as attempts to deflect responsibility, noting they held office for nine and a half years.
He likened the situation to inheriting a car left abandoned for years, requiring major repairs, not just a jump-start.
Mr Padarath is now calling on the Opposition to acknowledge its past failures and support long-term, sustainable solutions.
