The West Indies women opened the Tri-Nation Women’s T20I series with an eight-wicket victory over Ireland in Dublin yesterday.
Captain Hayley Matthews starred with an unbeaten 82 off 44 balls, as the Windies comfortably chased 104, finishing on 104 for two with 51 balls to spare.
Coach Shane Deitz praised the performance but said the focus remains on preparation for next month’s ICC T20 World Cup in England.
