Homeland Security Minister Roger Alexander has announced the nomination of Deputy Police Commissioner Junior Benjamin to act as Commissioner of Police.
The motion was brought before the Lower House this morning by Minister Alexander.
His nomination went unopposed, while Assistant Commissioner Anand Ramesar’s nomination to act as Deputy Commissioner received 23 votes in favour and eight against.
This comes as Police Commissioner Allister Guevarro is scheduled to attend an international policing conference in Orlando, Florida from October 22nd to 28th, 2026.
