A bailey bridge will soon be installed to replace the structure that collapsed two years ago in Avocat.
The old bridge at St John’s Branch Trace crumbled into the Godineau River in July 2024, cutting off residents in the nearby community.
With only a temporary footpath put in place since, the area continues to be inaccessible to vehicles.
According to a T&T Express report, NIDCO has confirmed tendering for the project, with an award expected in mid-July.
The move is being welcomed by residents, some of whom were forced to temporarily relocate for convenience.
