The historic Arima Town Hall has officially reopened, following years of delays since repairs began in 2019.
The Town Hall’s reopening had been delayed over unresolved financial issues.
In a Facebook post, Opposition Leader and Arima MP Pennelope Beckles-Robinson praised the reopening as the continued preservation and renewal of the historic landmark.
The present building was constructed in 1949 and has played an important role in Arima’s civic and cultural life.
Due to today’s opening ceremony,certain traffic restrictions were put in place, and will remain in effect until 2pm today.
