Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has congratulated the people of St. Vincent on their successful election, which saw the New Democratic Party and Prime Minister-Elect Dr. Godwin Friday claim victory.
She praised voters for upholding democratic ideals and offered blessings to the new government.
The NDPโs win ends the Unity Labour Partyโs 24-year rule, with Dr. Friday securing 11 seats and set to become the nationโs fifth prime minister.
