An inmate of the Maximum Security Prison is expected to be charged in connection with the discovery of prohibited items at the facility.
According to a release from the T&T Prison Service, several items were found yesterday around 10:15AM during a targeted search exercise at the “J” Division.
The confiscated items include 40 packs of cigarettes, three cell phones and four improvised weapons, which preliminary information suggest came into the prison by drones.
Acting Prisons Commissioner Elvin Scanterbury said these operations are critical to maintaining security and order in the nation’s prisons.
