A Princes Town man has been granted bail of $85,000, after being charged in a vehicle importation fraud case.
Police reported that Rashard Fakira allegedly deceived a victim into paying $34,400, promising to import a vehicle on the victim’s behalf, however the vehicle was never delivered, and the funds were not returned.
The matter was reported to police, and an investigation was subsequently launched by the Fraud Squad.
Fakira appeared before Master Bethelmy on June 1st and and his case has been transferred to the San Fernando District Court for hearing on June 26th.
He was also ordered to report to a police station once a week between 6AM and 6PM.
