Defending champions Trinidad and Tobago are on a bye today, the third day of the Jean Pierre Caribbean Junior Netball Tournament.
T&T opened the defence of their title with a 41-8 win over the Cayman Islands before whipping Grenada 32-12 on Sunday at UWI SPEC.
Head coach Suzie Hyles-Lewis said the team would look at videos of upcoming opponents during todayβs rest day.
“We are going to watch a lot of videos. We are going to watch a lot of games that show, especially with Dominica and St Lucia because St Lucia is a very organized and structured team. (Monday) were are watching the game to make sure we analyze the opponent we are coming up against,” she said.
Reacting to her team’s win against Grenada, Hyles-Lewis said here team showed “good structure, and good on-court discipline,”
“We wanted to stay focused throughout the whole, entire game and make sure we work on strategies and set plays in this particular game in going forward,” she added.
Hyles-Lewis started with star Goal Shooter Curleen Lara on the bench before bringing on the Malvern shooter to kill off Grenada’s threat.
“I strategized a little bit and used some of the bench players to come on the court for first quarter game,” she said.
Trinidad and Tobago play Dominica on Tuesday and St Lucia on Wednesday., and the national netball coach said the next few games will be critical.
“The games will be more intense and will determine who will go into the finals , and what teams go into finals to play each other. We are looking forward to looking at each of our opponents (on Monday),” Hyles-Lewis said.
On Monday, Barbados plays Dominica at 4:00pm, Antigua and Barbuda takes on Grenada at 5:30pm, and Cayman Islands face St Lucia at 7:00pm.
