Minister of Public Utilities Barry Padarath chaired a meeting with the Board of Directors of the Trinidad Generation Unlimited (TGU) on Tuesday.
They discussed matters relating to the development of the company.
The TGU owns and manages a major fuel-efficient 720-megawatt (MW) combined-cycle power plant in Trinidad and Tobago.
The facility is the largest of its kind in the Caribbean and supplies approximately 50% of Trinidad and Tobago’s electrical energy.
TGU is owned by the National Investment Fund Holding Company Limited (NIF), which is wholly owned by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago.
